Fare Matching

It is SARTA’s goal to work with our community partners to identify those individuals who need financial assistance for transportation in Stark County.  We are asking nonprofits, whose agency budgets are less than $5 million and work with low-income individuals, to apply for a match on full fare passes/tickets on a yearly basis.  This program is for 501(c)(3) nonprofits.  If you are not a 501(c)(3) your application will be taken into consideration; however, 501 (c)(3) organizations, as well as organizations that help with the opioid epidemic, will be given special consideration. Organizations will not be required to purchase all passes/tickets at one time.  However, the awarded amount SARTA matches will be capped at a specified amount for the 2024 calendar year.  After that, they will be required to purchase passes/tickets with no match from SARTA.

SARTA’s Fare Marching Program is a coordinated effort between SARTA and local agencies who serve low-income individuals.  This program has provided over $70,000 worth of matched fares.

In 2024 this program will match around $30,000. In 2024 the maximum amount of matched funds available to an organization will be determined based on when the application for the funds is received.
