SARTA launches new program that will help area employers hire and retain workers
April 5, 2021
Canton, Ohio – The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) is launching a new program designed to help area businesses hire and retain new workers, system CEO Kirt Conrad announced today. According to Mr. Conrad, employers who participate in the program will receive FREE 31-day fixed route bus passes for new and current employees to use for travel to and from work.
For more information about the free pass program employers can contact Latrice Virola, Director of Customer Relations at 330-430-1036 or [email protected].
“We know that the lack and cost of transportation can pose a problem for people who haven’t been on the job long enough to earn a couple paychecks,” Mr. Conrad said. “This new program is an obvious solution. With an employee’s free 31-day pass from their employer, new hires won’t have to worry about getting to and from work for their first month and once they have a couple pay periods under their belt, transportation shouldn’t be a serious issue, especially if they continue to ride SARTA, the safe, convenient, affordable way to travel across Stark County.”
“I like to think of this program as a pathway to a brighter future for those who want to work and the employers that want to hire them,” Mr. Conrad said.
Ms. Virola noted that any employer located in Stark County is eligible for the program. Employees with verified transportation issues will be eligible to receive one FREE 31-day fixed route pass. The transit system will restock passes as needed and work closely with employers to coordinate the program and ensure its success.
